The Power of Hope

Hope confidently took control. Depression knew it was time to go. Hope was not always so confident. Depression and his brother Doubt tried to share the same space. the "remember when's" from depression, together with the "what if's" from doubt, not to mention when both chimed in "if only!"
But that was then. Now Hope, learning from the past, raised her head and said, "NO MORE!" Both Depression and Doubt whispered sincerely, "we'll be back when you are not staring us down with Intention and Purpose protecting you".
It has been a lifelong struggle to gain control and then to maintain that control of feelings and thoughts. When I finally realized that living by feelings was nothing but an endless roller coaster ride. It was like being at the ocean, watching the waves crashing onto the shore. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There is no "off" switch. It is hypnotic, exhilarating, repetitive, mind numbing. As much as I love it, there comes that time to find the strength to break away, to get a different perspective.
When you decide to take charge of your life, expect Obstacles and Adversity to be there waiting, just as Depression and Doubt were, but their words will be "give up" "you are not 'good' enough", they may even try to convince you that you are not "smart enough, "pretty enough", "successful enough", or whatever YOUR dreams and desires are.
Why do others encourage you to fail? It does not make sense. Realize it is "them" not you. You can do this, but first, you must give yourself permission to be "brave enough to try, and strong enough to succeed"!

Take a deep breath and jump in...

What does this sound like to you? Summer at the swimming pool, learning to dive, or at least tread water so you don't drown?
What it means for me is:
1- come up with an idea
2- develop a plan
3- make a commitment
4- follow through
5- observe what happens next

So that is what I have done.
1- I wrote a book, have edited as best I know how, have several people reading it and I am waiting on their feedback.
2- I came up with a marketing plan for my book.
3- I committed the entire future of this project to God
4- I launched my website today. www.winoverwhy.com
5- the hardest part is done, the preparation. Now comes the opportunity to share my message with others.

Has this been an easy journey? Oh no, but the payoff has been fabulous. The freedom from depression, Chronic pain, fear, self-doubt. All gone. Will anyone else think I have something of value to share? not for me to decide, each person will come to their own conclusion based on their life experiences.
Mine is a story that has the elements of overcoming adversity, finding the answers that worked for me, and realizing there were some universal principles that would help others to do the same when they recognize what is holding them back.

Life is for living. Not in fear, depression, or doubt. But with an attitude of adventure and purpose with a plan. Let me help you develop your purpose so you can plan your life's adventure with a plan you are proud of.
